As an open-world game set on a huge tropical island, it should come as no surprise to gamers thatFar Cry 6offers plenty of awesome things to do, both as part of the game’s main story, and the side activities. This long-running series has been known for the freedom it grants to its players, and its sixth iteration is certainly no exception to that rule.

If anything, it expands upon it, with the addition of a large, bustling city (a first in the history of the franchise), and a whole lot of content that turns Yara into arguably the bestFar Crysetting yet. There are also plenty of things that the game is not being upfront about, encouraging players to go out, explore the world and try to make sense of the game’s systems, and find hidden things to do.

10Rooster Fighting Minigame

Despite the fact that PETA has petitioned Ubisoft to remove thisMortal Kombat-inspired minigame fromFar Cry 6,it can’t be denied that these rooster fights are a whole lot of fun.

It is a very well-polished minigame, complete with a tutorial, different kinds of attacks, and even a silly take onMK’sfatalities in the form of Gallo Supers. Players can alsocollect roosters with different abilities, adding depth to this seemingly trivial minigame. While real-life rooster fights should undeniably not be a thing anymore, taking them out of a fictional game that’s also full of other kinds of human-on-human violence and cruelty at PETA’s request would not have helped the cause in the slightest.

9Indiana Jones-Like Side Quest

The “Triada Blessings” quest is reminiscent of some of the best moments in adventure game series likeTomb RaiderorUncharted,as well as the cult-classicIndiana Jonesfilm series.

The quest consists of three treasure hunts scattered across all three of Yara’s regions and requires the players to return the Oluwa Blessings to the starting point. Once that’s done, Dani will be rewarded with Oluso, a panther Amigo (one of the most useful in the game), as well as a stealthy Supremo - the only one that can’t be bought from Juan.

8Scanning Cars To Save Them

Whenever coming across a new vehicle in the game, players are given the option to save them and call upon them when needed by driving it toa vehicle pick-up point. This is a rather tedious task, and unless a car or an aircraft is particularly noteworthy, most people will not bother with it.

There is, however, an alternative version of saving vehicles, not mentioned anywhere inFar Cry 6’stutorials. Cars, helicopters, and all sorts of other vehicles can be saved by simply scanning them with Dani’s phone, which then unlocks the option of preserving the vehicle on the spot, without going through all the hassle of driving it all the way to a pick-up spot.

7Getting Unlimited Supply Caches

Far Cry 6has introduced a home camp element to the beloved open-world series, much in the vein of what has been done inAssassin’s Creed Valhallawith the Ravensthorpe settlement. Players have the option to upgrade their camps, and while many of these improvements are purely aesthetic, a lot of them do have real value that make certain aspects of the game a lot easier.

The Hideout Network upgrade is one of such improvements, and it is recommended that players get it as soon as it becomes available. Not only does it allow Dani to airdrop into locations, but also provides players with supply caches that respawn every day (in-game), essentially granting unlimited materials that can be used for weapon or vehicle upgrades.

6Visiting Jurassic Park

While they’re not really a secret, manyFar Cry 6players fail to uncover the Special Operations missions simply because they’re not explicitly notified of them by the game, and their quest-giver is represented by just another icon on the map inside of the base camp.

Special Operations are missions that are completely separate from the rest of the game and can be played through solo or with friends in a co-op mode. The very first one of these quests entails Dani going to Mesozoico, a theme park that is a painfully obvious reference toJurassic Park.Aside from being able to walk through a semi-faithful rendition of the cult-classic location, completing this Special Operation comes with a set of unique rewards.

5Taking Out Choppers With An EMP Grenade Launcher

Helicopters are arguably the most annoying enemy vehicles in the game. They’re nearly impossible to shoot down with conventional weapons, host troops that are parachuted into the combat zone, and their machine guns are incredibly accurate and can deal a whole lot of damage.

While the rocket-launching or EMP Supremo weapons are both perfectly viable options for taking down FND helicopters, modding a grenade launcher to blast sticky EMP grenades instead of frag grenades is the best, most efficient method of protecting oneself against enemy choppers, since they don’t require a cooldown period in-between uses.

4Unlock Boomer From Far Cry 5 As An Amigo

The fan-favorite dog was, according to many players, one of the best things aboutFar Cry 5.Having him by one’s side can save a lot of recon work, as he could automatically tag nearby enemies, and in the aftermath of combat, he was able to fetch dropped weapons.

Given his wild popularity, Ubisoft had no choice but to add him toFar Cry 6,as well. In Yara, he is known as Boom Boom. Tounlock him as an Amigo, players need to complete the “Boom or Bust” side quest that can be activated in the Camp Maximas guerrilla camp.

3Turn Your Car Into (Almost) A Tank

The vast array of vehicles players can collect inFar Cry 6is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the fun that can be had with modified cars in that game. On top of installing deadly machine guns and projectile-firing mods, Dani can also top her ride off with some quality-of-life improvements that make getting around Yara a breeze, no matter how hostile the circumstances.

The grill-mounted rams, or Pakhats, are amongst some of the best improvements players can get their hands on, as it allows them to ram through FND checkpoints without worrying about damaging their tires on road spikes and others getting slowed down by other traps set up by Anton Castillo’s soldiers.

2Airdashing

The Supremo weapons developed by Juan Cortez,Far Cry 6’sveteran guerilla warrior, are meant to shift the tides of battle in Dani’s favor every once in a while by unleashing a massive, deadly, or otherwise disruptive attack. However, some of them have other functions, as well.

The Furioso Supremo is one of them. Its special ability is emitting a defensive ring of fire around the player, but it is its airdashing ability that makes Furioso worth equipping. By simply pressing the jump button mid-air, Dani can rapidly dash forward, making getting around during combat much easier and enabling players to get away from tricky situations within seconds.

1Instantly Scout Out An Enemy Base

Nearly every singleFar Crytitle includes the option of scouting out enemy outposts and bases in order to make coming up with a way to approach them much easier.Far Cry 6is no different, and marking points of interestand enemieson the map is done via Dani’s smartphone.

However, not a lot of players are aware of the fact that most military targets in the game have a hidden laptop or stationary computer that, when interacted with, reveals all enemies, alarms, and cameras in the particular FND base, eliminating the need to manually scan the area, which can get tedious fairly quickly.
