Fortunately, it seems as though a new leak might have reveled the title of this new game,Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

Players can also piece together a little bit of what the game will be about from what was released along with the title, including the upcoming story and how studio Toys for Bob plans on bringingCrash Bandicootinto the modern era. As many would likely assume from the title, this latest game will be involving time travel, with a new mask named Lani-Loli appearing and drawing Crash from 1998 to skip through time in order to save the Quantum Masks. This will likely be the loose context around the game’s story that will act as a convenient transition to bring thecritically acclaimed action-platformerinto the modern era of gaming.

The description that comes alongside the rating reads as follows:

Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.

Box art also seems to have leaked for the game, although some onlookers have come to the conclusion that this might be from an Australian copy of the game as more people from around the world continue to discuss the news as it spreads. Regardless, these leaked covers seem to suggest thatCrash Bandicoot 4will be available on PS4 and Xbox One, as opposed to thePS5 leaks and rumorsthat suggested it might be coming to Next-Gen consoles. However, that information is unverified at the time of this writing, and should be taken with the requisite amount of salt that comes with leaks for such hi-profile titles.

Considering the way Activision has been slowly drip feeding fans with more and more content from the series, such asCrash Bandicoot Mobile, a fourth game in the series was only a matter of time. As the title indicates, it’s about time that Crash got a new game that takes the biting difficulty of the PlayStation classic into the modern era. Fans of the series will likely want to keep their eyes open for more news about the upcoming title as summer continues and more information hopefully comes to light.
