Just like many of the stage battles you’ll take on inUnicorn Overlord, like thebattle against Gammel, you’ll need to decide whether to let the leader go, or to execute them. This choice is always a tough one, as the consequences of your decision are going to be permanent.
As for Mordon, the leader of the army you’ll find yourself in battle with during The Battle for Barbatimo, you might be wondering what the right choice is here on whether to set him free or not. This guide will tell you the ending result of both choices, so you can make your decision.
How to Start The Battle for Barbatimo
If you want to be given the chance to take on Mordon, you’ll need to startThe Battle for Barbatimoquest. You can find this Liberation Quest in the map image above, east of Fort Soligie in Cornia. To start this battle, you’ll want to make sure you’re at least above Level 5, otherwise this will be a tough fight for you.
In this fight, you’ll need to verify to bring along at least one character that can deal magic attacks, such as awizard or witch. This is required to break through the defenses of the Mantlets in this stage.Auch is a good characterto bring along for this battle. After you’ve broken through the first Mantlet, you’ll just want to head straight for Mordon and finish him off, which should be an easy defeat. You’ll then be given two choices during the cutscene with MordonL
What Happens if you Execute Mordon?
If you make the choice to execute Mordon, all you will receive in return is30 Honors. This is a prettyhefty amount of Honors, however, so if you’re really looking to get some more, this option could be helpful. You won’t come into contact with Mordon again if you choose to execute him.
What Happens if you Spare Mordon?
If you choose to spare Mordon rather than execute him, he will immediatelyjoin the Liberation Army. He is also a character that can fix broken bridges, so whenever you come across one, he can help you out. He is a Warrior-type character, who can easily break through heavily-armored characters, such as Hoplites and Fighters. However, Mordon has pretty low Defense, so you’ll want to keep him in theback row of your unit formation.
Should You Spare or Execute Mordon in Unicorn Overlord?
Now that you know the consequences of both options, we would highly recommend that youspare Mordon. There are a lot more benefits to this option, such as having Mordon immediately join the Liberation Army and making for a powerful Warrior-type. He can also help rebuild any broken bridges scattered around the overworld, so long as you have the required materials. Choosing to execute him instead will make you lose the chance of adding a new team member, and you’ll need to wait longer to fix bridges and find someone else to do the job.
