Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cutbrought with it a massive expansion that allowed Jin Sakai to explore Iki Island. While there are several pieces of new content for players to discover on Iki Island, one of the most interesting is the new puzzle-basedWind Shrines.
There are fourWind Shrinesin theGhost of Tsushima: Director’s CutIki Islandexpansion. Each of the four shrines features a unique puzzle for players to solve, and will reward Jin with a special armor skin based on a PlayStation exclusive. This guide will show players where each Wind Shrine is found, and what they have to offer.
All Wind Shrines in Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut
There are four Wind Shrines on Iki Island, the location of theGhost of Tsushima: Director’s Cutexpansion. The four shrines are:
Forbidden Shrine
Where to FInd the Forbidden Shrine in Ghost of Tsushima:
Ghost of Tsushima’sForbidden Shrinecan be found early in the Iki Island expansion. At the northern end of the new map, there is a small island called the Raider’s Promontory. This small island features one of the few Undiscovered Location markers that automatically pop up upon arriving at Iki Island. While this marker is actually the first Monkey Sanctuary, players will only need to head slightly west to find the Forbidden Shrine.
Completing this shrine will award Jin with a special version of Tadayori’s Armor, which is meant to resemble Aloy’s armor from theHorizonseries. The puzzle players must solve can be slightly tricky, as it is based around a poem that is found at the base of the large statue at the shrine. Here’s how to solve it:
“The Old World is gone. Though life is never-ending. Focus your spirit. Take up the archer’s mantle. A Seeker must aim for truth.”
Shrine of Ash
Where to FInd the Shrine of Ash in Ghost of Tsushima:
Ghost of Tsushima’sShrine of Ashis found southeast of Fort Sakai, north of Yahata Forest, very close to the edge of the water. There is a large bridge near Tatsu’s Ladder that will take Jin across from the north. This Wind Shrine is likely the simplest to solve, requiring only the Sakai Clan Armor that Jin acquires during the course of the main story.
Completing this Wind Shrine will earn Jin a specialGod of Warskin for the Sakai Clan Armor, Helmet, and Mask. The following poem serves as the puzzle for the Shrine of Ash:
“In fall, a tree fruits which grow from seeds to sapling, a stranger and son. Boy, honor your father’s fight. Show him the strength of your blade.”
Blood-Stained Shrine
Where to Find the Blood-Stained Shrine in Ghost of Tsushima:
Ghost of Tsushima’sBlood-Staind Shrineis found near the western coast of Iki Island. Look for the area labeledGonoura Cape,just inland from the Viper’s Den. The Wind Shrine will be found just above the G in Gonoura.
The reward for completing this shrine is a version of the Kensei Armor based onBloodborne.The following poem serves as the puzzle that must be solved to complete the Blood-Stained Shrine:
“The first green of spring sickens to black, decaying, plagued by blood and beast. Hunter, reject death’s allure. Prepare to duel man’s frailty.”
Shrine in Shadow
Where to Find the Shrine in Shadow in Ghost of Tsushima:
Ghost of Tsushima’sShrine in Shadowis found near Iki island’s southern coast. Look for the area calledBuddha’s Footprints,which is pretty close to the center of the coastline. This Wind Shrine is found directly south of the A in Buddha’s. To reach this Wind Shrine, you’ll need to make your way through a small gap in the rock wall that blocks any other method of entrance. Coming from the north, follow the wall east to find the gap.
Completing the shrine will award Jin with a special version of the Ghost Armor based onShadow of the Colossus.The following poem is the puzzle for this shrine:
“Stone knows no season, nor the colossus that was felled to save one soul. Wanderer, come like through mist, a ghost casting no shadow.”
