Summary
World of Warcraftplayers will finally be able to hide their pants via the transmog system inThe War Within. This transmog option has been five years in the making, and will letWorld of Warcraftcharacters more easily wear certain outfits or show off their unique character customizations.
In Vanilla,World of Warcraftplayers only had the option to hide their helmet and cloak via an interface toggle, a function the transmog system took over when thefeature was introduced inWoW: Cataclysm. Then, duringBattle for Azerothin 2019,World of Warcraftadded new transmog options that allowed fans to hide the appearance of every armor slot except pants.

However,The War Withinis bringing the hidden transmog system full circle. As of arecent build of theWoW: The War Withinalpha,World of Warcraftcharacters have the option to hide their pants slot while making a transmog. Five years after the rest of the hidden transmogs options were added, players can finally hide any type of gear they want for maximum character customization.
Hide Pants Transmog Option in WoW: The War Within
This option is important because of the control it puts in the hands of fans. There are tons of dresses in the game, such as the Lovely Black Dress from Love is In The Air or the Gossamer Desert Gownfrom theWorld of WarcraftTrading Post catalogue in January, that feature leg slits where pants are visible. The ability to hide pants will open up tons of transmog options with these outfits, and will avoid clipping issues with some robes. Additionally, new races like the Dracthyr and Earthen have unique customization options for their legs, so the ability to hide pants will let players show off these special characteristics more readily.
Needless to say, fans are excited thatWorld of Warcraftis finally adding this option. Tons of NPCs inWorld of Warcraftutilize transmogs with hidden pants already, including popular characters like Valeera Sanguinar, the Blood Elf rogue, and Sally Whitemane – the iconic final boss of theScarlet Monastary dungeon inWoW. With this option at their disposal, players will no longer have to hunt around for substitutes while trying to make transmogs inspired by these looks.
The War Withinitself is going to be huge for transmog lovers.World of Warcraftis letting players of any class unlock item appearances they come across, regardless of weapon and armor proficiencies. Fans who have lootedrareWorld of Warcraftitems like the Tusks of Mannorothor the Warglaives of Azzinoth on characters who cannot use the items will soon be able to unlock the appearances for their accounts, so players should be sure to hold on to any such gear they find until the Warbands system goes live later this year.
