Before the launch ofShadowlands,World of Warcraftheld a special contest where voters could pick a free mount all players would receive. Now, one of the most popular runner-up mounts from theWorld of Warcraftcontest is officially being added to the game.
The tree-like Wandering Ancient mount won the initial contest, but not by an overwhelming margin. Years later, the Gooey Slimesaber mount is joining the Soaring Spelltome–afellow runner-up mount added toWorld of Warcraftafter the contest–albeit under a new name: Jigglesworth Sr.

The Jigglesworth Sr. mount is unlocked by acquiring the new limited-time Feat of Strength meta achievement, Fates of the ShadowlandsRaids. This achievement is unlocked bycompleting Castle Nathria, the Sanctum of Domination, and the Sepulcher of the First Onesraids on Normal or higher difficulty using the new Fated mechanics added in Season 4. This new system adds new mechanics, powers, and twists to the encounters. As only one of these raids is available each week, players will be able to get Jigglesworth Sr. starting the week of August 16.
World of Warcraftplayers had previously datamined textures and icons from the Gooey Slimesaberin previous builds ofShadowlands, so its inclusion is not a total surprise. The Soaring Spelltome was added to the game months ago as a reward for completing the Mage Tower challenge mode after it was re-added to the game. However, unlike the Spelltome, Jigglesworth Sr. will only be available for a limited time.
World of Warcraftplayers are excited to get their very own slime cat in-game. Though theWandering Ancient mount won theShadowlandsvoteby over 10%, the Gooey Slimesaber came in second in almost all the voting regions. TheShadowlandsmount contest contestants were all interesting concepts, and players hope the two remaining mounts that have not been added–the Curious Caterpillar and the Nerubian Swarmer–make their debuts eventually as well.
However, there is somecontroversy surrounding theWorld of Warcraftraidreward. The Fates of the ShadowlandsRaids achievement is unavailable to players who complete the encounters on the easiest Raid Finder difficulty; they must be cleared on Normal, Heroic, or Mythic. Many fans are upset at this choice, especially since similar achievements and rewards had been available on Raid Finder difficulty in the past. It remains to be seen ifWorld of Warcraftwill add another manner for the limited-time Jigglesworth Sr. mount to be acquired, but for now, it seems like casual players may have to venture into more difficult content if they want to get their hands on the sticky mount.
World of Warcraftis available now on PC. TheDragonflightexpansion is set to launch later this year.
