Summary

World of Warcraftrecently confirmed its intention to bring back the Brawler’s Guild as evergreen content sometime after the launch ofThe War Within. After a hiatus of nearly four years,World of Warcraftmay finally bring this challenging PvE content back for good.

The Brawler’s Guild is aFight Club-inspired PvE game mode that features some of themost difficult fights inWorld of Warcraft. Once players receive an invitation to the guild, they can test their skills against these solo challenges, earning unique rewards and achievements in the process. Since its introduction duringMists of Pandaria, the Brawler’s Guild received a new batch of battles every expansion – but after the fourth season ended with the launch ofShadowlands, the Brawler’s Guild has remained on hiatus.

However, it seems like the Brawler’s Guild’s four-year break may be ending indefinitely soon. Duringan interview with Windows Central,World of Warcraftlead game designer Maria Hamilton confirmed the developers want to bring back the Brawler’s Guild sometime in the future. “For Brawler’s Guild, this is something we do want to bring back in an evergreen format,” she said, “but not right away atThe War Withinlaunch." Though players will have to wait a little longer to learn more about it, fans of the Brawler’s Guild can expect to hear more sometime afterThe War Within.

InDragonflight,World of Warcrafthas been pushing towards creating evergreen contentthat won’t become irrelevant in the next expansion. From Hamilton’s statement, it seems like the next iteration of the Brawler’s Guild probably won’t go away like its earlier incarnations, giving fans permanent access to the feature.

“For Brawler’s Guild, this is something we do want to bring back in an evergreen format, but not right away at The War Within launch."

Unfortunately, Hamilton also had bad news for fans of the Archaeology profession during the same interview. “With respect to archaeology, we don’t foresee this coming back in its previous format or as a profession,” she confirmed. That said, Hamilton did sayWorld of Warcrafthopes to find new ways to capture the Archaeology fantasythrough other means, like what it did with the Azerothian Archives public event from the Seeds of Renewal content update.
