Summary
World of Warcraftis seemingly adding another method to get the Tusks of Mannoroth, one of the rarest transmog items in the game’s history. If two newly discovered items are any indication,World of Warcraftplayers may be able to collect the cosmetic using a bad luck protection system of some kind.
With a drop rate of about .1%, the Tusks of Mannoroth are one of the rarest transmog items inWorld of Warcraft. They are obtained from Garrosh Hellscream, the final boss of the Siege of Orgrimmar raid inMists of Pandaria, but even with theraid skipWorld of Warcraftadded inDragonflight, farming this item is an endeavor many consider hopeless.

However, it seems likeWorld of Warcraftmight finally be giving players relief from their Tusks of Mannoroth farms.Wowhead recently datamined two new items: a cosmetic Tusks of Mannoroth drop, and another item called the Bones of Mannoroth, a stackable item ostensible obtained from Garrosh on Normal and harder difficulties. While if and how these items are connected, or what the Bones of Mannoroth do, is unknown, it seems to be some sort of bad luck protection system for acquiring the Tusks of Mannoroth inWorld of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria.
The Infamous Tusks of Mannoroth in World of Warcraft
Current guesses would indicate that the more Bones of Mannoroth one has, the better the drop chance for the Tusks of Mannoroth would be, similar to thebad luck protection systemWorld of Warcraftimplemented for Legendary weaponslike Fyr’alath, the Dream Render. Alternatively, players may be able to exchange 20 Bones of Mannoroth for the Tusks directly via a vendor.
While most fans are happy about the prospect of an easier time getting the Tusks of Mannoroth, some are not happy with it. These players, who earned the Tusks after hundreds or even thousands of kills, don’t like the idea of the rare item being easier to obtain, even if they aren’t sure how the system will work yet. Either way, fans won’t have to wait long to find out, asWorld of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandariakicks off on May 16.
