While competing on WWE’s main roster, Rose was featured in various storylines on both the Raw and SmackDown brands. Rose’s most memorable storyline on the main roster was when she was romantically linked to Otis, who had possession of theMonkey in the Bank briefcaseat the time. More recently, Rose had a successful run in NXT, leading the popular stable Toxic Attraction and holding the NXT Women’s Championship for an impressive 413 days before finally losing it to Roxanne Perez on December 13.RELATED:WWE Not Keen On Vince McMahon’s Return After More Sexual Abuse Allegations AriseFightful Select has reported that Mandy Rose has been released from herWWE contractone day after dropping the NXT Women’s Championship to Perez. According to the report, Rose was released due to nude photos and videos that she had been posting on her BrandArmy page, which the company reportedly believes violates her contract.
Previously,WWE had been strict about its wrestlers accepting third-party dealsor making content for profit on sites like Twitch or YouTube. The company has since become more lenient about these things, but it’s likely that the nature of the content Rose was producing was the main sticking point, not the fact that she was making money on a third-party site. WWE looks to maintain a certain public image, and it seems the company feels Rose’s content conflicted with that.
Even so, some WWE fans may be shocked by the company’s decision to release Rose, as she’s been one of the most-pushed stars on NXT for well over a year now. Rose and her Toxic Attraction stable have been a huge focus of theNXT brandfor quite some time, and one would imagine that she was being groomed to return to the main roster in a big way. Unfortunately, those plans are nixed, and it remains to be seen what Rose will be doing moving forward.
If Mandy Rose decides to stick with professional wrestling, she has many potential places where she could work, like All Elite Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, or even New Japan Pro Wrestling, which has started to put increased focus on women wrestlers. Rose has not made any indication as to what her plans will be moving forward, so fans will have to stay tuned to find out.
