XCOM 2, the critically acclaimed tactical RPG from Firaxis Games, is currently available for an insanely low price for Xbox owners. However, the deal listed on Microsoft’s Xbox Marketplace ends in a matter of hours, so those interested will want to scoop the title up now while it’s still on sale.

XCOM 2is the sequel to the2012X-COMseries reboot entitledXCOM: Enemy Unknown. Developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games, the reimagining of the franchise was lauded by critics upon launch. The Xbox 360 version ofXCOM: Enemy Unknownsettled in at an impressive 90 on Metacritic, and it also went on to receive numerous Game of the Year awards from various outlets. Now gamers have a chance to pick upXCOM 2for a great price.

Thepopular 2016 gameXCOM 2, which typically still retails for full price on the Xbox Marketplace ($59.99), can be purchased today for just $2.99. XCOM 2had the benefit of releasing on upgraded hardware with versions of the game for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as opposed to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was also critically well-received when it was released four years later. The Xbox One edition of the game boats an 87 on Metacritic. It did well at the 2016 Golden Joystick Awards (thoughnot as well asElden Ringin 2022) with nominations for Game of the Year and PC Game of the Year. The Game Awards nominated the turn-based tactical title for Best Strategy Game in 2016. And the 20th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards honored it with a nod in its Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year category.

The future of theXCOMseries is murky at this point. While 2K Games stated it was happy with the title’s sales in its 2016 financial report, there has been no word in an official capacity regarding a potentialXCom 3.Though there are a lot of great ideas as towhere theXCOMfranchise could head next.
