Yaoyao is the highly anticipated Dendro Polearm character from Liyue andGenshin Impactplayers are thrilled to finally have her join their teams. Not only is she popular amongst players, but she is also loved by the people of Liyue and the Adepti, such as Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping. As recognition for her impressive feats, she was presented with the Adepti Device, Yuegui, to be able to protect herself.

Yaoyao’s playstyle revolves heavily around Yuegui, as her kit mainly consists of abilities that deal Dendro Damage and heal herself or other party members with this Adepti device. As the first Dendro healer inGenshin Impact, she can be a great addition to many team compositions that involve Dendro reactions, even without any constellations. That being said, having Yaoyao’s constellation levels unlocked can provide extra benefits that may greatly improve her and the team’s performance.
Is Getting Yaoyao Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?
Yaoyao’s Constellation provides numerous valuable utility buffs, including damage buffs, Elemental Mastery, faster energy particle regeneration, increased healing, and more. Fortunately, Yaoyao is a 4-star character, allowing players to obtain herconstellations without spending a great deal of Primogemsif they are pulling for the banner’s 5-star characters. Alternatively, if players do not wish to pull from the Limited banners, they can still obtain Yaoyao’s constellations over time through the 3.4 event, giving her out for free. Overall those who are interested in Yaoyao’s constellations can see a great benefit from having up to C2.
C1 - Adeptus' Tutelage
Yaoyao’s C1 is an excellent buff for teams that focus on Dendro DMG characters and Dendro Elemental Reactions, such asNahidaor Alhaitham. It offers 8 seconds of buffing that can be sustained as it can be constantly reapplied, even when Yaoyao is absent from the field, thanks to the multiple radishes being thrown in intervals. Additionally, this constellation grants an increase in stamina, which is quite niche but still great for Yaoyao while sprinting during her Elemental Burst and other team members who use Charge attacks to deal damage. All in all, this is a great and easy-to-obtain constellation that can benefit the entire team.
C2 - Innocent
Although Yaoyao has a relatively good particle generation, her Burst of 80 Energy can make it difficult to activate without proper build or team setup. Fortunately, her C2 ability allows her to regen some Energy particles during her Burst. Players should ensure to have all three Yuegui active and take advantage of herBurstby running, sprinting, or jumping with Yaoyao near the enemies. With this constellation, players can make the most out of her Burst without needing to focus as much on Energy Recharge stats while building Yaoyao.
C4 - Winsome
Yaoyao’s fourth constellation grants her a nice boost of up to 120Elemental Masteryfor a significant amount of uptime, offering an additional damage boost for players using her to enable Dendro reactions on top of the healing. Unfortunately, this buff can’t compete with the benefits of her other constellations, as the amount of Elemental Mastery given is quite low and is exclusive to Yaoyao, leaving other team members without the same boost, unlike some other characters' constellations such asDiona’s sixth-constellation or Kazuha’s second-constellation.
C6 - Beneficent
Yaoyao’ssixth constellationgrants her the ability to spawn larger White Jade Radishes with a greater AoE during her Elemental Skill. The larger AoE not only allows her to heal active party members more (almost double that of a usual radish), but also allows better Dendro application when enemies are spread out. However, since the number of large radishes is limited and their impact on healing is often negligible in situations where enemies are clustered together, it is not the strongest constellation to focus on.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
